As everyone who is a regular here knows that I am fairly new to blogging even if I started to blog 2005. When BluePanjeet invited me to this crazy world, I jumped right in. This means I am a little crazy too. So, in the true essence of blogging, I have no clue what I am doing except to click on the site admin link and start posting whatever fancies my tickle (forgive my crazy spin on a cliche’). Anyway, Blue helped me in every aspect of domain hosting, going to daddy for a name–Go Dad! yey! installing Wordpress 2.6.I forgot which sub Ordered List I installed already, and rounding up all my plugins to be a better inter actor with you in this blog. I see a ton of difference between blogging with a self-hosted Wordpress and the other one (name withheld for privacy reasons, parang docudrama no?). Everyone knows, except me of course that commenting and layouts are far better here than abroad (pasensya na sa mga really good friends ko sa blogging platform na yoon ha?). And for some reason, the layouts are just enough to draw your heart and soul, spending sleepless night typing and checking that graph in your dashboard for any surges like the stock market.
I admit, I am a statistics hog. I’d like to see who comes and goes in my site and really strive to write something for everybody. Can anyone diagnose my condition? Dra. Rio, you’re the Philippine’s finest dentist, do you think you can prescribe Lidocane when I decide to peel myself off the computer? Because I know I will hurt bad, my shakes would come back and scary hallucinations would set in when I don’t get to caress my Wordpress dashboard even for a day. I have a suspicion that if Wordpress would totally banish itself from earth, I have an ongoing reservation with Massillon Mental Ward, and a straight jacket has Mahalia stitched right on it.
Now that 2.7 is out, I need to butter up to Blue once again and ask the process of how to install it, again. Hassle it may be for him but I sure hope he would understand that when 2.7 was in the works, I faithfully answered every polls for what goes to where, which problems needs to be addressed, who’s the number fan of Wordpress–me of course, and who will definitely download the file. I’m sure he would understand that my sanity is under duress if he says no, I’m too busy to help. I’m sure many of us newbie wannabees watched as the video of the new dashboard was explained and our eyes would just water out of sheer delight.
Well, if you don’t have a blog, open one now. If you have a blog but within the generosity of the Matrix (ccouldn’t help but make that comparison), self host. If self hosting seem too big a commitment, there are contests and gifts given by professional bloggers who want to reach out to the non-blogging market. Try Ambo’s buzz, he might win something and you might be a reciepient of his eber kindness. And in case you decide to get in on with this crazy world, 2.7 is out, talk to BlueP for advice, get to know the many friends that would instantly welcome you, hug you, tag you and YM you–add me and I will for sure chat with you for hours on end, diba Ifoundme?
