Frugal Tip#2: Christmas Centerpiece Decoration

14 November 2008 8 Comments

Do you have a clear bowl? Some course salt from the store? And a few white candles laying around the house? If you do, you have an instant centerpiece for your Christmas table. Place the candles in the bowl, add enough rock salt and imagine a while Christmas. If you want to be a little fancy, mix some glitters with the rock salt and place the bowl in a bed of plastic poinsettas. Do you want to add to this idea? Share it at the comment section and I would be glad to use it in my home.

that gave me an idea…. maraming malalaking kandila dito samin… baka pwedeng ilagay sa center table namin kasi bare nga naman ang mesa

    Hi ifoundme,

Picturan mo ha? patingin ako. gagawa rin ako ng centerpiece at pipituran ko rin, try ko rin. pwede rin ang food color na ilalagay sa course salt. kaya lang di na pwedeng gamitin after the decor is over.

    Hi Mahalia,

you can use iodized salt. nakukulayan ng colored chalk yun. just spread the salt on a table and irun lang yun chalk. ginawa namin ng anak ko yan sa isang workshop.

    Hi Amor,

Really. colored chalk, wow! Makapag-try pala. Candle centerpiece din yung sa workshop? Dahil nabasa ko itong Frugal Tip sa isang lumang lumang libro, I thought it would be nice to try, since US economy is down and all. Thanks for the info, mas mura dito ang iodized salt.

am creating my own advent wreath this christmas para makatipid. am going to reuse the old wreaths except am adding fresh pines and sempre yung candles din. why not collect nuts and leaves or branhes from outside tapos spray them with gold or silver, ayun, pwede na rin sya as decor, mura pa :D

    Hi raqgold,

that’s a good idea, gold spray paint and pine cones, andaming nagkalat dito na pinecones na wala namang kumukuha kundi mga squirrels. sige sige, I’ll make that for my door wreath too. Thanks for the idea!

    Hi raqgold,

I hope I can see it. Are you going to post it on your blog? I am a little unsure as to what an advent calendar looks like. I’m sure as creative as you are, they are wonderful!
